Conferences can be held online with great success but the devil is in the detail; the whole event will need to be intricately planned so the organisers can stay on top of everything. While possible to hold an amazing online conference that delegates love, it’s also a difficult task to get right.

The hardest part of going to be the technology needed. It’s important this is considered long before the conference itself, to ensure there is time to iron out any difficulties. There will need to be cameras, microphones, good audio quality, a good internet connection, and more.

You will also need to decide on logistics, such as where presenters will speak from. Will you have all speakers together in one place, or will your speakers dial in from their individual locations? If you decide on the latter, they will also need good audio quality. Make sure people can register and access all of the talks as well; organisation is essential.
