Health and Safety at Office Events

Events that are successful are successful for a number of reasons. Chances are when you think back to your last office party of charity ball, your first thought isn’t ‘that even was very safe’. However, if there was a health and safety issue and an accident occurred, this would almost definitely be at the forefront of your mind. You need to make events safe first and foremost if they are ever going to be a success.

First thing’s first, complete a risk assessment so you know what you need to do first. This will show you where the areas of risk lie, so you can then consider how to make sure they are accounted for in your event plan. Complete a full inspection of the venue before you do anything else, and make sure that your health and safety officer is consulted in full during the planning of your event.
